It's wild to think how these things form. It's also wild how long it take for one to get to the point where it can be drained/cut.

Yeah, one of the ones on top of your arse crack. That shite sucked. Edit, I had no clue what it was and thought I broke my tailbone. That shite popped the day before I went in to the doc while I was sleeping and had to throw my mattress, sheets, and comforter away

Yep.
Google pionidal cyst. Recovery from removing it is awful. They leave the site open and you have to pack it gauze a few times a day.

Had one removed back in 08, horrible surgeon created an 5 inch scar that will bleed often because the way it extends into my crack.

I had one removed from my main thumb a few months back. It was located just at the knuckle on the interior side. I am sure there is a much better medical induced location than what I have typed.
It got to the point to where even holding a pen writing something was getting painful. They put me under, removed it, sowed me up, and kicked me out of the hospital with a bag full of pain meds all within an hour and a half.

I've one of on the back of my neck for a couple of years, but it is not painful, even if squeezed. I had one on my wrist (again not painful) it went away on its on after a year or so. I think mine are ganglion cysts.

Had one back of my neck.It was just a small bump for long time then all of sudden got golf ball size,red and painful.Dr put me on antibiotics for a week and then removed it.Wasn’t that bad except he didn’t quite get all the “lining” and it came back.
Went to a different Dr.to remove it 2’nd time.Problem was because of scar tissue the local didn’t work well and it was painful as a mofo.Thought I was going to pass out couple times.

i had a small one on my back. It started after a long backpacking trip. You could just barely see it on the surface.
I had it removed and those things are like icebergs. What they pulled out was enormous.

Had a ganglion cyst on my foot for years until one day it grew enough that it started pressing against a nerve and hurt like a MF. Had it cut out then.

Have had one at the top of my crack on the inside of one cheek since high school. When I first got it I thought I broke something because I couldn’t sit.
Family doc told me to sit in as hot of water as I could handle for 15 minutes.
The relief felt when it finally started to expel was incredible.
Since then it fills from time to time while driving or sitting long periods and when I’m stressed out. I try to be showering when I drain it but most times it’ll just pop again while driving and then I have to change my drawers.
Wanted to have it removed but since it drains on its own it would be an elective surgery.
Brother had one that didn’t pop and his removal surgery and recovery was a mother fricker. Painful and a pain in the arse.
