A friend of mine was there. He flew with my Dad in the Pacific. He went to the 80th Anniversary last year.
I would call him every December 7th and talk to him. He "flew west" this year and I miss him.
He was 101 years old. Cass said he could close his eyes and see that day "as if it was yesterday."
Here is a video of him at 101 relaying his memories:

Went there for 4th of July last year
Somber experience especially still seeing the oil leaking out of the ship to this day. Museum after the boat tour was great too

Great man and men, indeed.
To think we have Progressives alive today that would call those men "Nazis". I watched it happen to my WW2 vet grandfather before he passed.

Amazing place… very sobering.
What happened with the memorial?
I heard it’s closed. Is that permanent or was it a COVID thing?

The men that served in World War II (and World War I too) are all rolling in their graves over what this country has become. Those men were real men. People today don't even know what a man or woman really is anymore.

RIP to all of those fine Americans that lost their lives that day and for all of those that fought in the resulting war.

My BIL’s uncle, and a close friend wife’s uncle, are entombed in the wreckage of the USS Arizona - two young sailors, one from south Louisiana, the other from north Louisiana, who lost their lives that day in the ship’s explosion.
Good to remember them, and all others who lost their life on that fateful day.

I have a distant cousin still serving aboard the USS Arizona.
Twice removed, no pun intended.
