Sounds like Nuss !! ??
stronger arm than Nuss (they are always raving about his arm talent), and faster than Nuss. He has ran 4.63 40 at the Elite 11 I believe, but that was pre injury.

He's not a gunslinger, which is a good thing. Nuss this year is lucky to only have 3 ints in the 69 passes he has thrown. There have been multiple more that were either dropped or the defender couldn't get it. Kid acts like every pass is his last.

Isn't that what the Rant wants? Throw it to our elite WRs and let them go up for the ball?

This board confuses me...do we want the QB to throw the ball or not? Inquiring minds would like to know.

We have no idea if he is a gunslinger or not. He has yet to take a meaningful snap in a college football game. Again, in a year or three we could be saying the same about Howards first 69 passes.

I get it. The kid balled out in HS and looked great in camp. But to compare a blank canvas to one that is just getting his feet under him (Nuss) is disingenuous to them both.

I'm not advocating for either, but Nuss' arm talent isn't all about strength; it's the quickness of his delivery. That is a rare, and useful, talent.

He is not getting the most out of that talent, right now, because he stares down receivers. When a QB stares at his target the DBs begin moving that way. Effective QBs move the defense with their eyes, then pivot to where they're not.

The MOST effective QBs then deliver the ball quickly, so the defense can't react fast enough. But QBs rarely have the quick delivery that Nuss has. That's natural, not learned. If he learns read the defense, then to move the defense, he will then exploit his quick delivery.
