Those that have been to the Citrus...

where is the typical hangout or area for LSU? We should have a 'spot' there by now.
Any other suggestions for first-time Citrus bowlers (will be stating downtown - Marriott about 2 miles from stadium)?
Should mention, going with a buddy who lives in STL and Im in NC -- no amusement parks, just a chance to see LSU when we don't see them often.
TIA

I'd actually highly advise not going. I went when we played Louisville in 2016. There's a few fields around the stadium where you can tailgate. The stadium itself is boring

Orlando has Baton Rouge level crime, so keep your head on a swivel. The area around the stadium is a pretty bad neighborhood so plan accordingly. There are usually tons of cops, so don't do anything stupid. Not sure what you mean by "downtown" because that could be several places.

Most people combine it with a disney universal trip as well

I went for the Penn State game and it was miserable. It was a cold and rainy day in Orlando and the terrible field conditions zapped LSU’s speed advantage. I think I left before halftime.

In a relatively contained area at least
It doesn't spill over throughout the city

We went for the Louisville game when Lamar Jackson was their QB. Defense played great. We stayed around Disney, it was cool to see the Tiger Band marching down "Main Street" and Epcot was a party for New Year's Eve. Different Epcot country center squares had different live music groups playing. I remember that the live band that played in the Italy section had a huge crowd and people were partying more than you would expect for a Disney resort. I don't recommend doing anything near Camping World stadium, we did park their safely and it was a short walk to the stadium. The weather for the Louisville game was great.

But the stadium is the outer edge of the hood.

Unfortunately, this is one of the busiest times of the year at both parks.

I was there as well. The worst game I’ve ever been to from a weather conditions standpoint. Terrible

You are correct sir.
Universal season pass holder here, and it starts week of Thanksgiving and is insane until 1st week of Jan.
It drops from insane to packed and stays packed until end of spring.

Had a great time at Universal, there were lines but everything moved rapidly. Partied downtown one day, bar hopped and cigar bar awesome.

Any recommendations on best mode of transportation between Disney and Camping World to maximize time back at Disney parks?

If you're drinking at bowl game....uber....if not, pay for parking , easy to hop on freeway and buzz back down i4 to south side of town

No pre-game plans on hood area would be smart.

My son and I attended the PSU game where the on-field grass seemed like sphagnum moss. It rained right before the game and ended at around kickoff time. We were soaked but the sun came out during the game. We had parked in a lot several blocks from the stadium--in a church parking lot. We learned to be careful about people charging for parking in the lots, because some charging didn't even own the lots (they sort of commandeered them), and they were not watched during the game--hence, we heard of a few cars being vandalized (not ours). Be very careful where you park! The area seemed secure, but there were lots of people everywhere. We didn't see much tailgating but there were a few on the western side of the stadium. I haven't been to the stadium since, though--things may be different..

We went to Waffle House twice

I lived in the area for three years went to the Louisville game in "16" stadium is near the getto part of O Town not much happening. I would hit Church St. Or Celebration area before or after.

I remember that game. It was like playing in a high school field with puddles of water everywhere
