They are still the Redskins to me

I don’t think a team has played the same opponent as their next two games since at least the 1960s
The Browns and Ravens just did it last year.

Didn't the Saints and Panthers play b2b a couple years ago?

Technically. It was Panthers, another team, panthers, and panthers in WC, iirc.

The bye between games is odd but it seems like divisional games happening twice within 3 weeks isn’t uncommon

Division teams have definitely played each other twice in 3 weeks before, just usually there's a game against another team instead of a bye week in between.

Washington is going to take a week off, then resume this game on December 18.

My apologies. I don’t have the 2021 NFL schedule tattooed in my brain. Still a rare occurrence. When it happened last year, it was the first time it happened to the Browns in the regular season since 1957. And it was the first time for any team in the regular season since 1991.

Two times in three weeks isn’t rare. And back to back from the last week of the regular season to the wild-card round happens occasionally.
Oilers and Browns played the last game of the ‘88 regular season and then the following week in a wild-card game, both in Cleveland. Browns won the first to get in the playoffs, Oilers won the second to knock out the Browns.

It’s happened other times, too, I just like that example.
