There won’t be Conference Championship games when the playoffs expand.

“Conference Champion” will be determined by record and a series of tiebreakers, but won’t be super important to programs anymore.

There will be no need for the extra game (and risk to injury) when 90% of the time the two teams in the game will likely be in the 12 teams already, and the rest of the time it will be an undeserving team playing a team who is a lock for the playoffs so might rest starters or not try as hard, etc. Its just going to be unnecessary

The challenge to your comment is that college football will have a hard time walking away from the money of the Conference Championships.
