Why? The only two teams that wouldn’t be in in a 12 team playoff before the championship round would be UNC, Purdue, and LSU. So basically 10, 11, and 12 would be out.

K State and Utah would be out if they lost.
If all those upsets happened Tennessee and Penn State would likely drop out of the 12.
LSU, K State, Purdue, Utah, Clemson/UNC, and Tulane/UCF get the 6 autobids.
UGA, UM, TCU, OSU are in easy at-large.
USC, Bama, UT, Penn State, Washington are all arguing over 2 spots. Really 1 because we all know Bama is in.
And somehow LSU by virtue of a UGA win ends up the #1 seed.
