It’s a tournament. 4 teams per group. There are points awarded based on the results of each game. Win=3, Tie=1, Loss=0. After the first round, the two teams with the most points in each group advance to the next round of the tournament.

I’d it’s a tournament as you say, and as I believed, why are some here trying to explain it way by making comparisons to the regular season in football to World Cup soccer?
Is it a tournament? Or is there a “regular” season?
