In my education, I learned that Ba’al was a competing or maybe a preceding monotheistic god to the god of Abraham.
This would be true, in a Philosophical sense. But only IF or upon the 'Creation' of a Universal Paradigm wherein God's 'Children' were created. God breaking itself into (perceived as such by the Created) 'pieces' as in the Big Bang. As soon as the "I AM" became the 'We are', in the realm of Spirit an eternal and competing 'I am' absolute "monotheistic" Principle would manifest.
In effect, if God were to break Itself into 'pieces', the created 'pieces' would necessarily become less perfect than the Whole/God. Therein the creation of 'Evil'. I recall Scripture that affirms this "I create Evil" (God speaking). Evil is a 'necessary evil' for the creation of (lesser, imperfect, and problematic 'children') Humanity, and as such can be labeled as a "monotheistic god", as they will have the ultimate choice - once aware - of choosing to worship Self over Whole/God. That god/idea will exist for only as long a the creation of 'separate' entities is realized.
We are God's 'Dream'. With the free will to manipulate our 'dream'/'heaven' to satisfy our own nature. That is Just and a wonderful gift. To each their own.
IMO, seek Jesus' help in forming the 'dream', if one desires ultimate Love/Unity. Or not.
I know.
