Just got back from viewing Bones and All. Mainly went because of Timothee Charlamet, loved him in DUNE, Little Women and The King.
It was an oddly refreshing romance with some mystery boxes which made it feel like a thriller. Might be my favorite film of 2022.
Timothee Charlamet is hands down one of the best actors of this upcoming generation.
Thoughts?

It is a romance/drama with a little suspense. Horror yes, if you consider the need for certain genetically predisposed people to feed on other humans.
Lots of mystery boxes to unwrap, it is a fun experience with great cinematics and screenplay.

So it's a love cannibal movie? Seriously?

It is a romance, almost coming of age but more like accepting who you are type stuff.
It is interesting.

Ol’ Sully GOAT.
Had some genuinely freaky moments, and a choice soundtrack of George strait, joy division, new order and Trent Reznor, among others (I’m choosing to ignore kiss)
…but in the end I only sort of liked it. If I were 15-20 years younger I have a feeling it would’ve resonated with me more. Probably my least favorite of all of Guadagnino’s movies, but definitely still worth a watch.

Me and the gf saw it Wednesday night
What. The. frick.
Some of the most disturbing scenes I’ve ever seen. Especially that haunting ending. If you’re squeamish probably not the best movie for you. It was good but it’s got some heavy cannibalism scenes

It wasn't that gruesome. It didn't over do it and had a decent score.

There's a definite difference in tone/direction from horror and horror-adjacent movies than from the 70s & 80s.
Back in the day, kids were chased by a Big Bad trying to kill them. Jason, Freddie, et al.
Now, the kids are the monsters. It's very telling about today's society.

I was intrigued when I read the description, and it sounds decent... I'll check it out.

Though I thought it had some things to say about young love, most of the society stuff had much more to do with Reagan's 80s America and addiction.
But there's a lot to pick apart, and I imagine it will be open to a handful of interpretations. I haven't really liked Guadagnino, director of Call Me by Your Name and the Suspiria remake, but I thought this was really good.
