This season feels very similar to 2001

Saban was in his 2nd year, though. Had three losses in SEC play that year. Made it to the SEC championship game as a huge underdog.
Won the SEC and then won the Sugar Bowl. Everything is still on the table.
I will say it felt more unlikely that A&M could beat LSU compared to LSU beating UGA. Beating UGA is highly unlikely but, not impossible
This team has never given up (until getting their shite pushed in last night). I think they get off the mat and come up with a hell of a gameplan against a Georgia team that knows they’re in the playoff

it felt like 2011 until last night.
That 2001 team got better and better throughout the season. We had some tough games against UT and UF early on. And the Ole Miss loss was close to last night, a team we should have never lost to, but it was still midseason.
But by the end of the regular season, that team was playing its best football and could beat nearly anyone.
This team has regressed a ton since the Bama game. We barely beat a bad Ark team and got blown out by a terrible aTm team.

It did until last night. The 2001 team got on a roll in the second half of the season and seemed unstoppable.
This group upset Alabama and has looked lifeless in the last 2 SEC games

Yeah LSU won the 2001 SEC Championship Game with a run first QB who couldn’t complete a pass. LSU will have to do that again.

but UT never prepped for those QB draws jimbo drew up. o line and davis were beasts and D came up big plus special teams kicks by corbello. mauck only completed 5 passes that whole game.
similar to matt jones in the 2002 miracle on marham in shithole war memorial stadium.

Yea 2001 seemed to have a stride and momentum that this one doesn’t

We did have that stride but it’s damn obvious this team quit after the Bama win and SEC west title. We are very fortunate we didn’t lose to Arkansas too
