savage axis II XP 450 bucks
you can upgrade the stock (a Boyd’s thumbhole varmint would be nice) and add glass and still be less than those others, with an adjustable trigger

I bought a Thompson compass a couple years age in 22-250 super cheap. Put on a Boyd stock. Only a 22" barrel but it is a tack driver. But it's a thin barrel. So it heats up fast. 3 shots and it needs a rest to cool for any accuracy.

Awesome gun. Scope isn't too bad either. I absolutely love the gun. It rides in my truck and in my combine all fall. For 450 I don't feel bad at all using for what I do.
