I’m trying to picture the impressive looking shoes that would excite you

I’ve paid $200+ for shoes twice in my life. For my ostrich skin boots and for my most recent pair of golf shoes.

I don’t get excited about an overpriced pair of dress shoes.

I wear boat shoes a lot. I used to go through a pair of Sperrys about once per year at $100/pair. I decided to try a pair of AE boat shoes. $200 or so and they are like 8 years old now and haven't even been resoled yet. You can get a much better quality product in that price range.

I've got 3 pairs of AE's. I think I got them all on sale. They are overpriced at $399, but not at $199. My oldest pair is 9 years and youngest is 5. I take care of them with polish and whatnot and they look new. A $125 pair of dress shoes from Dillard's is going to be shite leather with terrible grain that doesn't take conditioner and polish. The rubber sole ( ) will crack in 2 years and now I have to buy a new shoe when a good pair is just starting to break in and I spent $50 more than just biting the bullet the first time.
