Can we all agree the last 5-10 minutes of games are the worst?

Why not go to a non running clock at 10 minutes, stopping on any ball out of play and any injury stoppage?

Take the BS out of the end of the games and let it be decided on the pitch

Because games would go from 2 hours to nearly 4 hours.

You're basically asking to play 80 minutes of soccer and then 2 NFL quarters.

That’s just not true. Despite how shitty NCAA soccer is, I prefer the way they run the clock.

If you're stopping the clock for every foul/out of bounds for the final 10 minutes?

C'mon.

There is nothing wrong with the running clock.

You wouldn’t stop it for every out of bounds. I agree that’s stupid. But fouls? Absolutely. Stop that shite and you remove an aspect of the gamesmanship.

Disagree. It’s inherently stupid and it makes stoppage time pretty arbitrary.

Or we could just go the way it's supposed to be played and add on an accurate amount of time.

To be fair, FIFA is trying to correct that which is why we saw the 9 minutes of stoppage today. Historically they’d have added 3-4 just because even that seemed like a lot.

Yeah, it's a breath of fresh air compared to the last couple of decades. I hope they keep hammering that.

It’s funny when you’re not watching a game and following on an app… you see 90+3 and think “it’s almost over”

Then 90+4

Then 90+5 “come on, blow the whistle” or “we need a late winner/equalizer” not knowing what’s actually happening

Then 90+6

Then 90+7 when you wonder exactly wtf happened (if you’re not watching). If the goal happens now it used to be called Fergie Time

Not often do you get past 90+8, unless there was a major injury or something

Now they have more subs, water breaks, VAR…

This is the goal. The falling down and stalling just sucks to watch. If the players see the clock is stopped, it absolutely decreases.
