Those things are damn near bulletproof. I think that engine is basically just a Chevy 350 with 2 cylinders lopped off the back.

It's a 90 degree V6. No one builds a 90 degree V6 unless they start with a V8, but couldn't fit a V8 into the engine bay.

3.8 matches the displacement of the 5.0 V8. The 4.3L is the 6-cylinder derivative of the 350. Had one in a single cab s10 that was fun as hell to drive.

It was derived from the 215ci Buick aluminum V8 that ended up sold to Rover.
