Why is so hard to find and shut down bots?

It seems like a random, simple verification test would expose them and require a new verification before the account can do anything other than read on the site. My thought is a simple code that pops up randomly requiring the user to retype it within a set time would clean out bots

Because what they do is jump around and route through who knows how many different random servers. The proprietors of the vast majority of those servers don’t even have a clue they’re being used for that. And they have special code to do what’s called “server flow through” which means they are only “in” the server database’s RAM for a brief moment, and never leave a footprint in their mail database server memory. Thus in order to trace them you have to lock in on them while in the active process of “passing through” the server. Which lasts all of about a millisecond. It’s just not possible.

Naw I made all of that up and have no real clue. But it sounds close though maybe. Same ballpark at least, surely.

**Just providing a little reading material while we await some real info on the subject. That’s all.

Because that only works for a very short time. The people on the other end that control the bots sometimes employ lots of third would country people to type in that shite for the bots.
