Be a little more descriptive, how many, Ages, interests, first trip, when are you going etc.

2 adults; February; been there before; will do one show, Top of Rock , 911 museum or whatever it is, and just play it by ear.

Marriott Marquis Times Square. The hotel has been upgraded the past 2 years. Centrally located to shows. Times Square will not be very crowded during Feb. I’ve been at Valentines, the crowds are minute compared to Xmas.

The New Yorker is in the area you want. It’s not The Plaza or the Waldorf Astoria, but it’s a very good hotel in the heart of everything.

Last time in town we stayed in Soho and I enjoyed it.
My friend’s mother is a Jewish woman from Manhattan who lives on the upper east side. When I told her I was staying in soho she said “not bad…for downtown” which was the most condescendingly New York Jewish mother thing I had ever heard. It made my day.

You'd be near Pizza Suprema which is the best slice in NYC
But we always stay in Brooklyn In An airbnb. You get a more real NYC experience there than anywhere in Manhattan.

Thanks the suggestions all of you.
The New Yorker is intriguing. I like the price. I can afford to pay more but I don’t like to!
And we are going to a concert at MSG.

We usually stay in Midtown East around 50th and Lexington. I really liked the Lexington Hotel but Hotel 48LEX is decent if you get a good rate. We walk a lot and take the subway to places further away.

I am partial to short term rentals in big cities so I can have a kitchen but for a hotel when appropriate we usually stay at The Gallivant hotel near Times Square.

Lexington looks good. Marriott points too. Haha!
Might be more difficult to get back to late after a concert.
I’ve been to NY but not for a long time and first time without locals guiding me so relative newby

I like grand central hyatt simply for the ease of transportation. Don’t even have to walk outside to get to your train

We went to a concert on the Upper Westside in April, took the subway back, no problems. It wasn't insanely late though. I don't ever feel unsafe in NYC but I have had a place in downtown Nola for 12 years so not much fazes me.
