We have never been on an island vacation in the winter months, where sundown is at 6:00. It seems like it will be awkward.

Does anyone find the early sunset bothersome for any any reason?

Why would that bother you?

I guess I am used to late afternoons at the beach and heading back up around 7:00, in the summertime. Maybe I am asking if the day seems shortened.

They’re further south so the sun should set a little later there. It’s no big deal. Hidalgo Street will still be open.

It is an odd thing to fret over. The days are just as long. You just need to get up earlier.

Dopis lobster burrito is great and cheap. Fredy's if you want a steak and Fredy is a great guy. Mid island I always say Bastos for the arrachera steak. Bastos is closed on Thursday.

Are you looking for spots on Hidalgo only?

If you are open to other spots, check out Marakame, it is our new favorite spot on the island. On the inside. They have tables in the sand under a huge beautiful tree, pod swings…awesome spot.

Here is a pic of the outside front entrance, so you see what it looks like.

Nope. Looking at doing a quick trip after New Years this year and trying to get educated. Thanks!

But Suggs on places to stay on island would be cool also!

Not Hotel Secreto.

I’d stay on Playa Norte but you looking to book late.

Yep. Thanks. We may punt this trip to early summer if we can’t get a decent place.

There are lots of new boutique hotels on the west side of the island. It's not as convenient as Playa Norte, but you will have a quiet beach all to yourself and an unobstructed killer sunset view every single night.
