So BDR protecting millions of Floridians from the vaccine mandates is more based and populist than anything Trump ever did regarding COVID. It was most certainly NOT the favored path of most establishment Republicans or say Fox News. Others have made the point about Lockdown Don being all panicky and caving to Fauci etc while Ron and Kemp and Abbott forged authentic and bold paths of open schools and no lockdowns that ultimately turned out to be correct.

I don’t think you understand “populist”. Trump is one because he’s not originally a politician. DeSantis popularity comes from MAGA movement and his actions as governor.

I don’t and won’t disagree that Trump went all in with vax. It was a huge accomplishment during 2 impeachments and a global pandemic. You are forgetting Trump didn’t lock anything down, state governors did ….
I could argue other points but I’ll address the ones you wanted addressed.

There are many posts at TheLastRefuge's twitter page: showing DeSantis saying in video clips: if you take the vax you won't get covid. If you really care about making it about covid.
DeSantis was ahead of the mark on opening his State, kudos to him, truly. But I think he opened because he was cued to by the swamp that knew covid was BS. Because they knew damned well it would be what he could argue with Trump over.
Pence accusing Trump of being a Russian apologist was a clue to the GOP secret meetings, as it was said Ron clapped the loudest when Pence said this.

Lying doesn't help your cause. And you are lying.
Trump called for states to reopen in early April. DeSantis went to the WH at the beginning of May to iron things out.
DeSantis reopened the state HE closed by his OWN power in stages. The last phase, 2021!
