Who would've thought that CA and NY would save the House for the GOP this cycle? Crazy times

Pelosi announcing retirement tomorrow?

@Drew_Hammill
@SpeakerPelosi has been overwhelmed by calls from colleagues, friends and supporters. This evening, the Speaker monitored returns in the three remaining critical states. The Speaker plans to address her future plans tomorrow to her colleagues. Stay tuned.

as said in the other thread I started after the announcement was made

Pelosi says she will not seek a leadership role in the next Congress... she will remain in Congress as the Rep. of San Francisco but will not be in leadership

I've seen enough: Rep. Mary Peltola (D) wins reelection in #AKAL, defeating Sarah Palin (R) and Nick Begich (R).

as expected... GOP infighting costs it an at large House seat in a ruby red state... again

I thought that was some kind of runoff. We had two Republicans running against one Democrat?! Friggin idiots.

nope... Alaska has ranked choice voting... that's how the D took the seat the 1st time and how they were able to hold onto it this time

also how Murk was able to retain her seat in the Senate instead of getting primaried like Chaney was in Wyoming

ETA: Begich's only goal in the House race was keep Palin from getting back to D.C.

this was truly in-fighting alone costing the GOP a seat that shouldn't be competitive

these candidates whose only platform is talking about how much they love Trump.

That ship left the harbour a while back, certainly post-insurrection, and is capsized out on the high seas.

Trump is finished, and he looked really foolish Tuesday night when he threw his hat in the ring.

What did you say about Trump’s chances the first time he threw his hat in the ring?

Palin never served in D.C..
she lost vp race.
she won mayor of Wasilla.
she won governor of Alaska.
she used a yahoo account for state business. she was run off under scrutiny.

its amazing that begich so was against her attaining power.
do you know how begich described palin?

hi barry

I was vociferous in my demand she be tried.
I was disappointed the category of elected officials mostly chose her in the convention.
Bernie was the only alternative. they took her anyway. don't blame me.
I posted here then.
peace. out.

Some news on the Boebert race

from Dave Wasserman

quote:

New: we're headed to an automatic recount in #CO03, where Adam Frisch (D) more than halved Rep. Lauren Boebert's (R) lead from 1,122 votes to 557 votes.

Still, extremely rare for a lead of that size to be overturned in a recount.

Yes. No matter what the final ballot count ends up being, Boebert won the vote.

This is rather ridiculous. These new ballots or cured ballots or whatever came in at about a 60/40 split for the Dem.

What an absolute fricking JOKE. Can anyone tell us how many ballots are left out there to "cure" or "create?" Where they came from? What's the timeframe on "curing" ballots? 10 fricking days after the election? How about 3 months after the election? After Boebert is already declared the winner, are they going to find 100 more Dem ballots in a closet somewhere and all of a sudden remove her from Congress?

The whole thing is an absofrickinglute clown show.

the feeling I got from Wasserman's tweet was that the initial counting is over and now it's to the auto-recount since it's within the trigger margin and he expects Boebert to eventually prevail
