After watching the replay on the OT JD run for a TD, I was Shocked they didn’t call a block in the back on Taylor. He engaged the defender from the front and when he lost his position, due to the defender turning at a different angle, taylor continued to engage him by putting his hands on his back with a slight nudge. You can tell Taylor was conscious of what he did as he raised his hands up as soon as JD passed them by. I’m thankful they didn’t make that call as those are the calls that get made against us when we play Bama.

Taylor blocked him then the guy turned as Taylor was about to hit him again and his momentum caused him to hit him in the back. He immediately pulled back when he physically could.
I don’t know if they didn’t see it or saw there was no intent on the part of Taylor but I’m surprised this crew didn’t calm it.

I thought for sure they were going to call Taylor for the block in the back. That typically gets called against us vs Bama. Did they really not see it or just let it go because they screwed us several other times already? Birmingham was definitely trying to affect the outcome of the game. No doubt.

This is why it wasn't called, because it wasn't a block in the back. He engaged him from the front and the defender turned while engaged.

It would have been a BS call, he did not push the Bama defender down. The Bama defender ducked under him, it was never a straight hit a guy from the blind slide in the back. The way it worked out, the Tip ball on the PI for Bama not going LSU's way and that call not being made ultimately made the game be decided on the field.
