Billionaire CEO and GOP mega donor Ken Griffin goes all-in on DeSantis for 2024

MIAMI — Hedge fund CEO and philanthropist Ken Griffin smiled when asked if he wants to be the No. 1 political donor in 2024.
He has given nearly $60 million to federal Republican candidates and campaigns this election cycle. That puts Griffin behind just liberal billionaire George Soros, who’s given more than $128 million to Democrats, and Richard Uihlein, who aligns himself with far-right candidates and organizations, at about $62 million.
“Do I get a bronze medal?” Griffin asked, chuckling while allowing that “it’s not a competition.”
Bronze-level giving by Griffin, 54, would be welcome news for one potential 2024 hopeful: Ron DeSantis. During an interview in his temporary offices in downtown Miami, detailing how he directs his political contributions, Griffin told POLITICO that he’s prepared to back the Florida governor if he runs for the White House. Griffin was the leading donor to DeSantis’ reelection campaign this cycle, dropping $5 million.
“I don’t know what he’s going to do. It’s a huge personal decision,” he said of DeSantis. “He has a tremendous record as governor of Florida, and our country would be well-served by him as president.”
Politically, he’s also tired of Donald Trump.
Griffin liked his fiscal policies while in the White House, but his only financial support to Trump came in donating $100,000 to his inaugural committee.
“He did a lot of things really well and missed the mark on some important areas,” Griffin said. “And for a litany of reasons, I think it’s time to move on to the next generation.”

That's sums it up. THEY want someone they can control. Their biggest fear are people like Donald Trump and Elon Musk who have plenty of money and DGAF about their petty attacks.

People are focusing too much on these individuals and not enough on the movements.
Trump only exists because of the movement. The people behind Trump are sick of the GOPe and their pandering without ever fighting for what people want.
We want Desantis to be a part of that movement.
What appears to be happening is the seduction of Desantis into the GOPe movement.
They may get rid of Trump but they can never get rid of the movement and the movement will not stand behind Desantis if he stands alongside Paul Ryan, Mike Pence and Kevin McCarthy.
Paul Ryan is not for a secure border or anything resembling America First.

I believe Trump took money from over 65 billionaires in the 2020 cycle.
Does that count? Was Trump beholden to them?

5 million? That's nothing
Adelson gave Trump 90 million through his PAC's.
Isaac Perlmutter gave another 21 million.
Kelcy Warren 10 million.
Who's beholden to the Billionaires exactly?

If you’re the guy I think you might be (some very levelheaded posting on Covid), you’re smarter than this.

This is all there is to it.
I have a friend who’s family is extremely wealthy and they made all of their money through government contracts when daddy Bush was in office. The have been huge donors and republicans their entire life until Trump won nomination. They all voted for Hillary at the request of a Republican senator that was their friend getting them the contracts.

Cucks love their candidates to be beholden to the billionaires.

And Ye.
Who's next? Jack Dorsey? Him staying on with Musk after resigning from Twitter board makes him a suspect. Him apologizing for Musk's actions helps pacify the left and ensures they'll pay their $8 knowing they have a friend on the inside. I think he continues to play that role and don't expose himself.
Kinda wonder about Bezos. Musk used to drag his nuts all over him constantly, but they seem more friendly recently.

I’ve been itching for BDR to frick up and say the wrong thing in support of those three clowns. It will be his undoing.

That's not a knock on DeSantis, that's just the truth about these large donors. I know most of the big fish here in Arkansas don't throw that money around without hoping for something in return. There are a few, but not many.
