Any reason to go for the 2-pt. conversion when Bama scored late in the 4th quarter. Their final FG would have been a game-winner.

The chart says go for it when an XP would put you up 5

Seriously? You don’t see the advantage of being up by 6 rather than 5?

At that point, it’s probably negligible. I’m glad Nick’s now a slave to “the chart,” though.

Are we not capable of missing an extra point?

And I don’t even like “the chart, it has teams chasing points too early, and I think missing a 2-point conversion has a negative psychological effect that’s impossible to measure. But I thought it was a no-brainer to go for 2 there.

Late in the game means the opponent needs a touchdown. Not enough time for two FG. So 5 or 6 ….meh. In this case because of multiple TDs it cost them the crucial point.

Analytics say……. Whatever we’ll take it. Feels good to be on this side of it rather than the Miles years when we would be questioning crap done in a game all week.

They count for 6 points.

No, the much more likely scenario is we tie it with a touchdown and they have at least “some” hope of us fricking up an XP.

What played out with the little time left made them probably wish they’d have kicked. But I think that would have been a “hindsight is 20/20” deal. Just because it worked out that way doesn’t mean it was the wrong logical decision in the moment. Late in the game, up by 6 is a much more percentage play than being up by 5. Which isn’t automatic either. That’s just not a legit criticism of Saban tonight.!

A PAT and they are up by four. Who cares if you are up by five? A failed two pt conversion keeps LSU in the game with a FG
