I read all of you complaining about maps and guns, is CS:GO not the ultimate test of skill, with so few changes to both over time?

I was a big CS:Source guy. I really like CS and it’s what got me into online FPS. Personally I prefer the gun play in COD, partially bc I prefer the hip fire / ads aspect of the COD games.
ETA: I would agree that CS is probably a better way to gauge “skill”.

CSGO is a great game, but it is not for the casual gamer who only has a few hours a week to play. It takes quite a while to become reasonably serviceable.

It also did not port to the X very well, so we missed out

Test of what skill?
90% of being good on battlefield(when it was real) was proper map strategy, and playing with a good squad.
