Just to play Devil's advocate.
Because confident coaches believe they can beat those guys. Kiffin has, without any doubt, that level of confidence.
Or he might not get any of those chances. Have we ever seen it in his history where he waited 2 years for the better opportunity? He took the Florida Atlantic job, when you could have argued in another year he would have gotten a much better offer.
This is 100% true. But he has shown he can work the portal. And perhaps worrying to some Ole Miss fans, I think a lot of his current team would choose the coach over the school.
I am not saying he is going to Auburn, but you are so dismissive of it. The truth is AU has had more shots at national titles than his current spot. It has better facilities and historically recruits better. While all of that may not be enough, do you really think he would not at least consider it?

Why would anyone willingly go to Auburn and be judged by how they compete with the 2 best programs in the country?

He could get Texas, UF, UCLA, Oklahoma, Alabama all in the next 2-5 years.

And a roster that is gutted.

consider it?
Yeah but the negatives at Auburn are numerous and heavily outweigh the positives from what is coming in the nest 2 cycles if he just is patient. And after TN/USC I'm sure he will be.
