This aint then.

It isnt, but the fact remains that Auburn is a much better job than OM. Just like back then.

You say Auburn is only marginally better and Lane will leave in 2 more years for a top 5 program. Well, I hate to break it to you, but Auburn is already a top 15-20 program nationally, and has much more exposure, money, better facilities, fanbases, etc. So he can jump right now, build for two years and have a legit shot at making a run at a Natty. He's topped out at OM.

It is what it is.

OM is top 25 and about to roll back to back 10 win seasons with an NFL QB that has 2 years left. It ain't worth the jump. That roster you guys have is awful. No QB. It would take him 2 years to even be competetive. Why cut the bridge to Bama for life and start over when you could roll 3 back to back to back 10 win seasons at OM and get any job you want.

But Auburn is better than OM so any coach would die to leave OM for Auburn. That is your logic here. Take off the Orange and Blue glasses. As Cam said "It's a business decision" and not the kind of retirement money and fail in 3 years. Its a premier job in the next 5 while not being stuck behind Saban and Kirby and fighting for scraps while being judged to the 2 biggest juggernauts in the sport.
