Don't know if it was posted yet but, I just read the story about Russell Shepard in today's Advocate. In it he says........

quote:

Without the emergence of a leader,” Shepard said, “I’m very excited. I think I have a chance to be a three- or four-year starter on an SEC team

Sounds like a young Ryan Perriloux at East St John.

No No No, perriloux wanted to come here and win 4 heismans, shep wants to come here and be a leader, big difference.

Not at all comparable to saying he'd win the Heisman four years in a row.

This is either sarcasm or you don't follow recruiting one bit.

Difference: RP had a first round draft pick and a capable backup in front of him. RP promised heismans

Shep says he has a chance. I dont see a first round draft pick in front of him and no one has proved they are capable backups

Russell Sheppard is no Ryan Perriloux. he has been doing lsu recruiting by myself. You should read more up on this guy before you compare him to Ryan "piece of shite" Perriloux

Unless you are joking, you obviously haven't followed the recruitment of this young man. This kid is a CLASS ACT, and he's been busting his butt trying to help LSU recruit.

Shepp isn't anything like Perriloux from what I have seen. Polar opposite as far as I can tell.

I hope you're not serious with this.

But if you are..........

are you EFFING kidding me? He says "I think I have a chance to be a starter." How the hell is that cocky at all? He's not saying he's coming in to run the show from day one. You obviously just read the advocate this morning and don't follow recruiting and have no idea about he kind of character Shep brings to the table. We are truly likely to have a guy like him come into to play for us. That's it.

Honestly, what else do you want the kid to say? After watching the quarterback play so far this season, I think he has a chance as well.

Shep, if you read this, please ignore it!

If we had 'em, there wouldn't be enough bonehead dumbass icons for this!

Well, if those are the only comments you are going to base your opinion on, then maybe he does sound like RP.

But, if you were to go back and listen to the interviews that he's done, and read the quotes of him printed in papers...you would then see that him and RP aren't all that much alike.

Again, he said he "THINKS" he has a "CHANCE" to start. He didn't declare himself the starter, and he's obviously CONFIDENT in his abilities.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with his comment.

Not at all. What is wrong with a confident kid coming in to play?
