Absolutely yes. I don't think they were in that top tier prior to 2000 but I think the body work put together post 2000 has put them in the blue bloods.

I ask this question. Why would you say these schools are obvious

Texas
Penn state
Tennessee
Georgia

and not LSU?

In the 21st Century LSU is definitely a Blue Blood as to recruiting and play on the field. LSU has the second most Nattys this century. Now far as TV and followers, that’s a different “Blue Blood” , that’s the kind of Old Glory blue blood. The Blue Blood of the NFL is Dallas which hasn’t been relevant in 28 years, that’s ND, Penn St, and USC blue blood.

We are a Blue Blood. Tennessee is not and a few of those teams have almost lost their status

We are from the last 20 years of work with 3 titles and 1 other Natty appearance. We have passed Penn State, ND, Georgia and a few others

Re: Tennessee

LSU has more poll era National Titles, more weeks in the AP top 25, more weeks as the AP number 1, more Heisman winners, more overall national award winners, more first round picks and overall NFL draft picks.

Tennessee has 1 more SEC title and 1 more consensus all American (40-39)

Make of that what you will
