Since 2000, teams are 48-2 when leading by five runs or more in the World Series. The only two teams that have blown a lead of five runs or more were the 2002 Giants and the 2022 Astros who were both managed by Dusty Baker.

That’s because he’s sucks as a manager. He’s a dipshit who has had great players at every stop and still hasn’t won a World Series.

He’s one of those guys who isn’t a very good coach, but is quirky enough that people treat him like he’s good, and you’re expected to pull for him. See also: Mike Leach.

He’s nice to the national media and brags about all the people he knows (cited getting calls this week from Snoop Dogg and Bill Cosby). Then the idiotic media writes “That Dusty Baker is so good because he’s so cool.”

FODB is great at taking bad teams to the playoffs but is not a Championship-level manager. But as a Reds fan, he took us to the playoffs in three out of four years.
Of course, we had a 2-0 lead on SF, with three games in Cincinnati.......and lost the series 3-2. Choke indeed.
