Well if they would practice like A&M does at the midnight yell, they would get it. I’m pretty sure the tailgate cocktails has something to do with their timing.

No one that is a student now even remembers when the band played Neck regularly, its been like ten years. I don't even know where they learned the chant 
I see ITT that school banned it in 2017, but the band definitely stopped playing it regularly well before that.
This. Just like they speed up the pregame claps/drumbeat as the band walks out and finish the alma mater 15 seconds before the band and everyone else.
