Royal Caribbean reveals spectacular design for new Icon of the Seas cruise ship

With someone in the area of 6,600 passengers on most sailings this ship is going to need alot of different neighborhoods and a robust entertainment schedule which they appear to have. Also, I like the addition of added area for suite guests.
For a suite guest with families this really does offer a different feel / vibe on each sea day based on what you want to do. You can spend one day in a main pool area, one day in the family area, another in the suite area, another one focusing on activities (flowrider, water slides, etc).
It's going to make port days interesting with so many people, I would expect delays in the boarding process and more people showing up late before all aboard but the ship itself looks amazing.
I also like the expanded cabin options for a variety of different configurations. That uniqueness will obviously drive of the prices a bit and it's going to be extremely rare that she is able to sail at full capacity.
After sailing three different Oasis Class Ships i've had a mixed feeling about the class. The first time I thought it was too much, too divided, too segmented but I think it was just because I wasn't used to that size ship....now, it feels normal. I think this would be the same way although I will likely wait a few years to book it.
By comparison to Wonder of the Seas (the newest Oasis Class Ship) which is 1188' long, 18 decks, 6988 guest capacity , Icon is larger but not by much and appears to have alot more offerings on board to disperse the crowd.
20 total decks (18 guest decks)
5,610 guests @ double capacity and 7,600 max guests
2,350 crew (bringing ULTIMATE total to 9,950 guests)
7 pools, 9 whirlpools
6 record-breaking waterslides
250,800 GT
1,198 feet long

I got the reveal email this morning and have been checking it out. We might cruise on it eventually, maybe 2024 or 25. We need to do an Oasis class ship first. Our next cruise is a Mediterranean one on the Enchantment. Pretty much the opposite end of the spectrum for Royal ships.
ETA: On second thought, we probably won't sail on the Icon. The thing is huge and way over the top. Too many people and honestly, kind of tacky.

We're sailing Brilliance next month as well. Same thing, a much much smaller vessel.

Last time we did one of the big ships, I didn't care for it. My daughter at the time wanted to swim and the two little pools they had were packed.

I was on the Celebrity Infinity last week, and we docked next to the MSC Seaside. That ship was mammoth, and when I looked it up, it holds almost 6K passengers.
I thought only RC had ships that size.
