If for people use, make SURE they have safety stops in case a cable, pulley, etc breaks. My neighbors, man and wife mid 70's, were in their son-in-laws elevator at the top when something broke and the elevator fell 10 ft and hit the ground. Son-in-law had declined safety stops because of the $11,000 additional cost. The fall broke all 4 of their ankles and and other bones. They've been in the hospital/nursing home since August and won't get out till mid Nov. You need safety stops, don't skimp.
