Is it a given that J. Roy goes pro after this year?

Oh yeah. He’s gone
He may, but I think our fan base needs to be prepared that we have a coach staff now that will educate these kids on how to maximize their pro career. Under O the thought was go pro because you never know what will happen your senior year. It seemed like the coaches did not help the kids understand how to maximize their draft stock or understand if they were mature enough to handle the everyday aspects of being a professional.
We have had so many kids leave after their junior year to be draft in the 6th or 7th round, go to the practice squad and end up never making a 53 man roster. The best way to get better is by playing more snaps, that doesn’t happen if you are on a practice squad.

I've barely noticed him on the field making plays, but at his position it's hard to realize exactly what's going on. I would love for him to come back for one more year... Plus, he can finish and get a degree which can be a lifelong help.

He can pressure from the interior DL and is decent run stopper. Great size and athleticism. Getting double teamed alot so his overall production has been down this year. If M. Smith wouldn’t have gotten hurt he would be getting his name called more often. Could be as high as 2nd round pick. He is gone.

I think the NIL stuff helps us keep guys like this, I’m sure he will get a good amount of money to stay, and a really good Sr year can add millions to his rookie contract. Without NIL he’d be gone for sure.
