I can't get a solid answer.
I have a 1:45 transfer between British Airways fights. I go from terminal 3 to 5.
I know they have trains and busses. Are any for transfers only?

I think it's enough time either way. But I read they had decent fish and chips in terminal 5. I'd like to have time for that.

I had to change terminals and I took a bus without having to go back through security. Of course that was coming from Spain and not the us, so didn’t have to go through customs

If you're coming from the US, you will not have time for that. If coming from Europe, it's a possibility.

That's what I'm doing. I'm flying in from Madrid and connecting to New Orleans. I want to fly that direct 787.

I'm flying in on a BA flight to reminds
Terminal 3 from MAD I transfer in Heathrow to Terminal 5 to fly to MSY.

I found last night online something about a purple bus. I only saw the trains mentioned when I first looked it up.
So it looks like there may be a bus for transfers not leaving the airport.

An hour and 45 minute layover? You'd be cutting it close to making your flight if you were doing it just for sport. My recent BA flight boarded an hour before takeoff, getting from the lounge in terminal 5 to my gate took 20 minutes minimum. There's 3 wings and 2 of them you'll have to take a tram your gate to once you're already inside of terminal 5. Sure as shite not worth it for airport food.

Just did this twice in past 2 weeks. Flew in from US into terminal 3 then switched to terminal 5, then vice versa on way home.

I had to go through security both times on entering the second terminal. Both times it was crowded but I got through pretty quickly. Under 10 minutes on way there and about 10-15 on the way home. Entire process of terminal change and security was under an hour.

Also a second security check at the gate on my way home. They opened everything up and poked around, Bonn swabs etc. So plan that in as well.

Did something like this back in July, we had to take a bus from Terminal 3 to Terminal 5, then clear a security check again. Ended up missing the flight back to the states because we got held up in security because they only had 2 lines open for everyone.

That's what I'm worried about. I start the day flying from BCN to MAD on Iberia then MAD to LHR. All flights from BCN to LHR were later in the day after the only flight to MSY. This was the only way direct to MSY from Europe.

IF I miss because of an issue. I'll just rebook a flight the following day and visit England for the day.

Win/win.
