Ellis is a starter when healthy. Porter is a starter when healthy. We'll see what happens in the coming weeks but as of right now Nesbit is back on the depth chart...behind Nicks
LINK So that's 3 starting caliber players out of this draft.

i said ellis was solid. i said nicks was a good pick. porter is good too, all i said is hes on IR and guys who aren't playing don't really help your team.

What is this comment referring to? Meachem? The numbers say 1st round WR's are likely to be busts, so unless it's a sure thing or you're desperate, stay away. He was definitely a risk not worth taking. But the point is that the Payton regime has gotten lucky on enough late round diamonds in the rough, and trading for veteran starters that they overall have a decent draft record and it shouldn't be assumed that any draft pick will be wasted.

well if you werent reading i was talking about resigning vilma, which would mean we lose our 1st rdp next year. i assume that we would draft defense and by letting go of vilma we would now have a need a lb, so what would we do? turn around and draft a rookie lb, have to pay him big bucks and not be sure of what he brings to the table? when we just released a guy who is proven to be a good lb?

and this was my logic, if you disagree fine, but atleast understand what your commenting on. and yes meachum was blown pick, and yes i know that most first rounders are good players, but you never know what your getting, like meachum, which is exactly why i'm saying to resign vilma and lose the first round pick.

vilma=proven product
unknown 1st rdp=high salary and nothing to show hes worth it

why give big bucks to an unknown? we need vilma in our defense.

So if we resign Vilma no matter what we give up a 1st? or just if we resign him before the seasons over?
