California parking space law aims for affordable housing and climate change ‘win-win’
LINK
“Housing solutions are also climate solutions,” said California Gov. Gavin Newsom,
the state has recently adopted a law that prohibits local governments from setting minimum parking requirements for new buildings within half a mile of a transit hub such as a rail station or the intersection of two bus lines.
You may own a vehicle but you will have no place to put it…

The goal is the "reduction of millions of cars"
Biden said it. It is on pace to reality

Californians are fking morons.
The Internal Combustion Engine is one of 4 inventions that propelled the world out of darkness.
We will NEVER see a time when the ICE isn't relevant to modernity.
I wish Lex Luthor had succeeded.

Saw this coming like 15 years ago when I was there and couldn’t find a parking spot for anything bigger than like a 4Runner.
My dad always drove a suburban and we rented one when we got there. Only time I ever really heard him whisper yelling/cursing under his breath was trying to find and then squeeze into a parking spot

It seems like a wash? It’s government making a law prohibiting a law

California doesn’t exist as we know it without the automobile.

It prevents local cities/counties from forcing developers to provide parking. If the free market calls for parking, it'll happen.

Well in a sane world those homes and apartments would be unrentable.
But this is california and sanity has no place there.

Not all of us. Just the overwhelming majority.
You just need to get rid of the influence of the Bay and SoCal. That’s where all of the bad shite originates from.

Are people fleeing Cali in droves?

In all fairness, the future for CA transportation is gondolas.

No. More STATE government, less municipal government.

Don't hate it... helps densify areas and makes them more walk friendly. Less car dependence, less traffic, more enjoyable lives.
