Besides Trout and Ohtani, the Angel roster is a full bag of garbage. Rendon might be useful if they could keep him healthy, but that team in general is not close to the playoffs.

The angels played ok ball at the end of the year. I can see them sneaking in as the 3rd wild card if they dont trade ohtani this winter and if trout is healthy

Their pitching is getting better, and Taylor Ward came on and added to the batting order, but their 6-9 is awful.

Obviously Ohtani doesn’t suck. And Taylor Ward and a few other players are fine, but overall it is in contention for the worst roster in baseball from spots 3-25.

It's going to be impossible to build and keep all the parts necessary when you put so much of the payroll into the hands of 2 players of MVP caliber.
When Bryce Harper left Washington, less was more. A-Rod did nothing for Texas but provide a gate appeal. Huge contracts don't always do it.
The Angels are going to have to decide soon who they are and what they can afford to bring a better product. Ohtani is probably going on the trading blocks soon.

Best player in the past 20 years without a doubt. When healthy I still think he's the best player in the league.
