Is Anyone Even Giving Us a Chance Against Bama?

With all the negativity in Tigerland, I was just wondering if anyone even thought that we could or would be Alabama.

We are playing at home.
Nick Saban is returning to LSU as a hated rival.
We are backed into a corner.

I know that we have not played well, and I know that every analyst will pick Alabama by two touchdowns, but the Tiger faithful need to get there heads back in the game and quit being so negative. If we can get our act together, we could conceivably win out and at least play in a New Year's Day bowl game. That's pretty impressive for the youth that we have on both sides of the ball, although all of us would want more.

We have a very good chance. It will be a close game. We can score points (38 against UGA), we are at home...it will be a night game (in the 4th qtr), we have won a bunch in a row against them, Saban and his players will be pressing to get him a win and will lose focus...yada yada yada...sure, I like our chances.

Hopefully, the team figures out their problems in the next few weeks.

To me, Saban is not a "hated rival". This is a game and Saban did us proud. Would YOU have not taken the money?

Law of averages fuels this and Bama is just playing really really well.

I think LSU will win but I wouldn't call it a "lock"

Barring an injury or something, I'm going with the Tigers. Among other things, I count on the team's determination not to get torched like they did against the Gators and the Dawgs. I thyink that motivation will make our guys play like freaks of nature. I hope so.

LSU wins....no doubt from me. I'll be in the stands until that clock has 0:00 on it (like I aways do).

I think LSU matches up better against Bama than they did against either Florida or UGA. JPW isn't nearly the qb that Stafford or tebow are. I'll take my chances against a running team any day over a team w/ a top flight QB.

But, those bltz packages against Lee do bother me.....

Personally, I'd make LSU a 3-pt. favorite at home, b/c I think it would be a toss-up at a neutral site.

That's better.

We ARE going to beat Alabama. And it's gonna be awesome!

I feel a lot more comfortable about playing Bama than I did vs Georgia and Florida.

I agree with Chicken about the fact that we can score points. (thank you Crowton)

However, Saban's defense capitalizes on confusing the QB. How many interception and points does LEE spot them? IT may be over before it starts in this game. Unless we just revert to running the ball, but then we'll lose b/c our defense can't hold them back forever.

Do not think for one minute that BAMA will give up the yardage that UGA or FL gave up to us....

I see this game being more like the So.Carolina game, except Bama has more offensive weapons. And, unless we do something to limit the QB/turnover mistakes in previous games, BAMA could shut us down.....

and, I'm convinced that BAMA's offensive line is much stronger than UGA or FL, and is probably more balanced with the run & pass...while JPW is not as strong as Tebow or Stafford, he's shown an ability to get the ball to his recievers this year if given time....Julio Jones will stretch the field much more than last year's Bama team, and Coffee is no slouch at RB...personally, I think he's better than Knowshon.....

expect Bama to bring their A game.....not sure if we have an A game this year. I hope I'm dead wrong, and will take my punishment from the Ranters with great joy if our Tigers can prevail!!

it's almost to the point where it's better long term if Bama crushes the frick out of LSU's defense just so Miles would be forced to make a move on the DC situation at the end of the year.

turnovers, guys, the key is on keeping mistakes to a minimum-we do that, we win hands down-no LSU turnovers=LSU win

not for me, if mallory and peveto get things going good, who cares if they stick around. i don't need a "high profile" dc if we can just utilize what we have and churn up some good wins.
