I'm watching an old Austin City Limits with George Jones and Vern Gosdin.

Is it worth going to if you really want to see a headliner? What’s so bad about it?

If I could make a wish, to sound like anybody at all, I would choose Vern Gosdin.

There's a reason they called him "The Voice."

It wasn't just his voice. He had incredible timing and phrasing, not to mention, was a really good guitar player.
I remember the first song that made me a fan of his, to me, it wasn't even a great song, just kind of generic for that time. " This Aint My First Rodeo", but the way he did that line, " Honey aint yo mama sick a lot?", that was absolute perfection. I started paying more attention to his stuff after that, and checking out his older stuff.
