Anybody ever done this and, if so, have any tips on how to do it somewhat cheaply?

My initial thought would be to make like a two week trip starting in London/Dublin, going through France, then to Barcelona and into Pamplona just for a couple of days for the run then back to Barcelona to fly home. I generally enjoy the logistics of traveling but would that be a huge PITA to figure out?

Sometimes you run with the bulls, sometimes the bulls run with you.

yes, ran in 2005. We stayed in San Sebastion and had to stay up all night to run because of morning bus schedule. Don't recommend, stay in Pamplona but head to San Sebastion after. Gorgeous place.

Yes, did it in 2018, most exhilarating thing I've ever done in my life. Imagine a 1500lb, pissed-off tomahawk missile coming up a hallway at you and that's about as best as I can describe the feeling. Stay in Pamplona as close to either Plaza del Castillo (preferably with a balcony overlooking Calle Estafeta) or by the Ayuntamiento to watch the opening ceremony. There are no Ubers or anything that run so you will be walking the entire time. Actually, I'll put it this way, stay close to the action if you want the convenience, stay a little further out if you want any peace and quiet - the party does not stop. If you plan to run make sure you're in the right place because they go through the street to separate the crowd and if you're on the wrong side of it they kick you off of the route. Bring multiple changes of clothes, you will get Sangria on everything you own and you will love every minute of it.

Eta: if you fall down, stay down. The first morning I did it I had a 17 year-old Spanish kid show me where he had gotten gored in his ribs the year before.

Additionally, I'm nowhere even close to being a PETA type, but I will say the bullfight is pretty brutal and not fair to the bull at all. It's worth it to see if you've never seen it before, but it wasn't nearly as cool as I had thought it was going to be.

I’m working remotely in europe for 8 months beginning in April and those are my last days in Spain so I’ll just train there from whatever city I’m at before. Haven’t booked other Spain accommodations yet
