I was (and still am) pretty upset about this. It was my first 13.1 in 2002 (before RNR was organizer), my first 26.2 in 2012, and after moving to Texas in 2010, was an annual event in my household to look forward to. RNR got a new owner a few years ago and his vision was to make it a more global experience. Since then, RNR had added a lot of international locations, but so many U.S. races have been retired. I ran RNR MGM 13.1 or 26.2 every year for 20 years. It was sort of disappointing running it on Lakefront this year, but this org ran this race (and others like Dallas) into the ground & then retired it. This is the bigger disappointment. MGM started in 1965, so it would be like retiring the CCC.
