Miles bashing Lee

I live in Lafayette and Glenn Guilbeau had an article in the paper this morning where Miles, according to his own quotes, put the loss on Lee. The headline in The Advocate stated Miles might go to Jefferson. Does anyone else find that Miles' criticism is a little misplaced?
Going into this season suspect QB play was expected. I think that Lee has shown the talent to be a very good QB here for the next 3 years. Yes, he has to stop making the same mistakes over and over. But if we look at the GA game along with the FLA game Lee made mistakes but he also made plays to get us back into the game only to have the defense put him back into the hole. Redshirt freshman QB's are not going to be successful if they not only have to overcome their own mistakes but the mistakes of a less than par defense.
I think that Miles should be addressing defensive problems, first and foremost. I do not think this is the time for questioning an already shaky Lee especially when all you have waiting is a greener Jefferson. Please Les, focus on the defense where our greatest problem is and not on a redshirt freshman.

HUGE mistake to start Jefferson or even play him significantly. Lee needs to prepare us for Bama. JJ is not going to lead us to a victory over Bama.

well we do have BIG problems with the defense, but Lee did play like shite sat. 2 pick sixes?? there is no excuse for that.

agree totally. i've been getting the same impression based on the advocate and the LSU football review

Perhaps he is blaming him, not bashing him. I think there is a difference.

Your first mistake is reading Glenn Guilbeau.

Let Lee start to get the bad taste out of his mouth. Two pick sixes yes, but if he is going to be your QB he needs the gametime against TULANE. Just stick with one guy in my opinion.

Agreed, Lee played badly. The first play of the game is absolutely inexcusable! However, I don't know how many drives you can expect a redshirt freshman to be successful in when he is constantly behind. Would he constantly have to make plays in the 4th quarter if the defense would have come up with some stops?

I am not saying that Lee does not deserve criticism. I think he knows that more than any of us. If you listen to Miles' comments he makes it sound as though if Lee plays great we win. However, I think he should be saying if the defense plays even average Lee isn't put in a terrible situation in the 4th quarter and might be more successful. We have a veteran laden defensive line and they have been non existent. Let's see some public criticism of them.

Agree, Crowton needs to run then pass. Let him get unwired then pass. He is a work in progress

When you are behind by 14 with 8 min it makes all the difference in the world.
