Jayden Daniels - just want to see what you guys think about this

No doubt, he played a great game last week. I sure do like seeing LSU with a good quarterback that can make things happen on offense. My worry is, injuries. The way he takes off and runs and keeps the defense confused is really something to watch. If the defense supports the offense and these guys play like they did against Moo State, they will be a handful for anyone, I think. But if Daniels gets hurt? It seems to me that this would change the entire offensive scheme of things. A quarterback playing like this seems high risk. Your thoughts?

Its how he has played his whole life, what is his injury history?

It definitely has more risk. If you rewatch the Miss State game, on the play before the Goodwin TD he ran it and came up limping. Obviously he's fine now, but I think we'll see a lot more of that as the season progresses. He's going to take a beating.

Is there any actual data to support this notion that running QBs get injured more than pocket passers? They get hit more often but passers getting sacked are often hit in more compromising positions.

Daniels is a runner. Injury will always be a what if with him at any level. You play to win the game this week or any other week. You owe it to way too many to not to play for victory each Saturday. Daniels understands this and so does Kelly and both are ok with where they are right now.
What if Jayden gets hurt 1st play against the Lobos? Since LSu wasnt winning any major hardware this year anyway, it will not be a major catastrophe. Its not like if Burrow wouldve went down in 2019.
You do gain some playing time for your next 2 QB's which both have very high ceilings as you move the alignment into 2023 and beyond. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
On a personal side note, if Daniels isnt the QB, it just will not be as much fun for me personally. I cant wait to see this Man play QB each game, what a talent!

Running qbs typically have less injury than pocket passers. They are more used to contact, more athletic, and more often then not are not getting hit in awkward positions. It’s the way he’s always played. He’s fine.

Those of us who lived through the Pat Screen and Nelson Stokely era view running quarterbacks in a different light.

What are you suggesting? Either this post is meaningless or you have a point to make. Which is it? And if you have a point to make, please make it. Don’t make us guess.
I can only hope that this isn’t another dumb attempt to suggest that our starting quarterback should be anyone other than Jayden Daniels or that we should be running any scheme other than the current one.

Well last years projected starter hurt himself at the fishing camp, so if Daniels get hurt helping LSU win, I hope he has a speedy recovery.
Injuries is part of the game, If B Young at Alabama gets hurt, don’t ya think it will change Alabama offense?
