I’ve enjoyed both. Oxford is much more crowded and bougie and Starkvegas is spread out but fun with cool fans.

Starkville’s cotton district is fun but so is Oxford’s square. Tailgating in Starkville has always been pretty boring. Ole Miss’s tailgating is extremely packed in (the grove is small) but I’d give them the edge.

I’d go Oxford over Starkville

If you’re going for a baseball series you’d pick Starkville every time

If you’re a golfer, Starkville and play Mossy Oak and Waverly in Westpoint the same weekend

Oxford

Oxford is the nicer town of the two and the tailgating is better.

but I found OM fans to be snooty and combative.

Older OM fans really hate LSU. Younger fans raised by them also hate them. On top of that LSU has historically owned their arse. However compared to state fans. They are very snooty like you said. Mainly towards LSU. They don’t think they’re better than Bama. Only LSU.

State fans are cool. They’re super down to earth and are just having a good time. Starkville isn’t as bad as people make it seem. It’s just in BFE but the town itself is cool IMO. It’s simple and easy to get around. I enjoy it.

It took me three tries to actually get to a game in Oxford. I absolutely hate Ole Piss fans. I got into a fight my first two tries in the Groove.
First time, some a-hole threw a mustard covered hot dog on me and it went to fists. Second time, some frat boy tried to hit me with a block of ice and hit an 80 year old woman in the face. Split her cheek wide open. That went to fists too.
I fricking hate ole miss fans. I hate the Groove. I hate the city. And the police are complete cocks to LSU fans.

Starkville is my vote. But, the cowbells suck.

Try the swamp. Or Tennessee.
Bama is only fun when we beat them (2019).

Starkville. People are cool.

Oxford had douche preppies with Costco chicken and fake silverware.

If you know any Ole Miss fans and they have a tailgate you can go to in the Grove, it will be fun. But if you don't, no Ole Miss fans are going to invite you to their tailgate.

In Starkville you probably will be invited to tailgates if you are civil and keep it to talking football. The stadium experience is kind of a a pain in the arse with all the cowbells ringing but I just bring some good earplugs and it it helps quite a bit. With the damn cowbells and the ridiculously loud stadium speakers I experience physical pain in my ears without plugs, which means that hearing loss is occurring.

I have always found the State fans friendlier overall than Ole Miss fans.
