Looking more into the reaction to this, I have a theory. This wasn’t really supposed to be for the entire EBR system. Somebody screwed up and invited the magnet programs. If this had simply been the “regular” schools in attendance with their demographic, it would not have caused a raised eyebrow. But they got students in there who are not Christian and who are smart enough to know this wasn’t right. And with parents who are engaged enough to raise hell about it. Now the organizers are trying to cover their tracks and saying that there was no requirement for students to register to vote in order to eat. Now, they may not have actually denied anyone who didn’t register but it was (according to many who were there including my kid) stated as a requirement.
The lunch was sponsored by the Urban League. So there was no agenda in their voter drive, I’m sure. /sarcasm
This event should never have happened on school time. Narcisse heavily promoted it, apparently. If so, then he obviously lacks the judgement to lead a public school system of any size.
