I think the bag belonged to the person that grabbed it. Probably just wanted to grab it and get away from the crazy shrieking bleeding guy.

Also, not that it should matter but just as an observation I think the stabber is Hispanic.

The Harry Potter robe-wearing guy stares at the guy and quotes something like "get right back in the van and get the frick out of your neighborhood."

That's going to come across as a bit of an aggressive thing to say to a stranger on a bus that looks like he's probably a gang member.
