Not sure how much I put into the talk about Dobbie and Leftwich on development. I love Beth as a coach, but there were rumors about the staff being on the hot seat. With recruiting classes like these it should help.

The frustration about the staff has never been about recruiting. Beth has had monster recruiting classes the majority of years she has been here. The issue has been with performance of those kids once they get here and how they progress (or don't) year to year.
Whether it is the infield defense struggles from the '16-'17 years that really hurt us in OKC or the consistent decline in offensive numbers over the last 5 years, the recruits that come in just aren't progressing once they get here. In recent years we have had kids come in and have All SEC and All American freshman years and then fall off the longer they are in the program.

LSU recruits itself. Some of the best facilities in the country, good fanbase that travels, amazing campus life, and an athletic department that is committed to winning. The ceiling for this program is endless, with the right staff in place. Beth has proven she is a great coach, but in my opinion her loyalty to Howard and Lindsey are what is keeping her and this program from taking that next step and playing on Monday/Tuesday in OKC. I hope Woodward is as ruthless with this program as he is with all the other ones, because LSU should be a perennial powerhouse and deserves to have a coaching staff that can get them there.

This is the exact opposite of what actually occurred. The decline was in pitching and defense, not offense. Wickersham and Sunseri regressed. Had they not, the trajectory of the program would be remarkably different. How much of that regression is on the coaches vs the individual players is the question.

LSU was 3rd in hitting and 4th in pitching in the SEC conference games last season (2022). Blaming the season on Dobson & Torina seems extreme to me...

There has to be other reasons...
