get the original, more powder, faster bullet, just as accurate for hunting, put it in the chest behind the shoulder - devastating.

There are a several replies here that are just stupid. There is a hate of this round that just doesn't make sense.
The 6.5cm is not a miracle round. Nowhere close. It was hyped and hyped well. It is capable but only if the correct bullets are chosen.
It was so hyped, that there have been a great number of bullets that have been designed to use in the gun. And a lot of them have no business being shot at animals. Sometimes hunters are too damned stupid to read a box a realize that the bullet they are picking are not good for the type of hunting they are doing or for hunting at all.
Hornady ELD-x is the perfect example. It's designed to expand property at longer distances (moving slower). At distances 200 yds and in, the bullet grenades and may not exit.
It is flatter shooting that the .308 but I really don't consider it "flat" shooting. At 600yds the bullet (out of my gun with hand loads pushing a 140 gr bullet at close to 2900fps) drops close to 6 feet.
It is an extremely capable hunting round but like I said, you have to get the right bullets.
There are plenty of capable cartridges that perform similarly. The creedmoor just happens to have a ton of choices in ammo and it's almost always in stock.
If a tracking dog owner ask what type of rifle was used, he's probably tracking for a lot of kids that didn't make a good shot or idiot older hunters that grabbed the a bullet that is made for match and not hunting.

quote:The swede isn't faster. Period. There isn't a production round (In 6.5 swede) out there that is faster than the creedmoor with the same bullet.
