What was your sober take on special teams?

Better, but a long way to go. Start with made kicks, FGs and PATs, blocking assignments.. All better.. We had a positive special teams turnover.

Tackling was awful. Kick out of bounds is a inexcusable, etc. And clearly, when my wife and daughter are yelling "Get away from the Ball" there is still a lot of work to do.

This team is improving, across the board. In game one, we had everything go wrong, except interceptions and fumbles on offense. Defense couldn't get off the field. Special teams did everything except allow a runback for a score.

Defense has turned the corner, although there were a couple things still- brilliant game overall, but a couple of huge runs given up.

Offense still hasn't hit it's stride, but say what you want about Daniels, he looks his best in crunch time. Same time that Miss State was beginning to drop everything, Rogers was starting to flinch, and eventually threw an INT, Daniels had settled into a rhythm and was leading TD drives. And yeah, he does need to find his open guys more, in the flow of the offense, before it's balls to the wall time.

Special teams, State has some solid players. You don't need much to prevent a blocked kick, if the timing is right... and they seemed to have fixed that hole from game 1. Shanked kickoffs suck, but they happen. Return coverage seems fine on punts, we have to tighten things up on kickoffs. Punt returns- at least he caught the ball. That's improvement right there, gotta instill when to get away from it now.
