I’m head to Vienna in the spring. Was thinking of trying to see Trieste. Anyone recommend?

Vienna or Venice? Never been to Trieste I considered it when we went to Venice also though.

Going to Vienna first. Then probably Ljubljana. Then maybe Trieste.

Trieste was the first port visit I ever made in the Navy. Been there a couple of times, but that was decades ago. Decent city, as I recall. I would think it would still be nice. We took the train to Venice once.

I remember going to Miramare Castle. To me Tieste felt weirdly Italian and Not Italian at the same time.
I also remember the public facilities being a hole in the ground. That was in the early 2000s.

A lot of Slovenian influence in Trieste.

Went there 40 years ago. Really nice medium sized city with very nice locals. We walked up and touched the fence to Yugoslavia. They wouldn't let us cross. Lol. Nice restaurants, a few museums, and beautiful women. That's all I remember.
